40th Year Anniversary of the “Rumble in the Jungle”

For those who didn’t know, October 30th is a very special day in boxing history. On this date in 1974 in Kinshasa, Zaire Muhammad Ali defeated George Foreman by eighth round stoppage to regain the World Heavyweight Title in what was dubbed “The Rumble in the Jungle. Ali was considered a huge underdog, but he employed what he later called the “Rope-a-Dope” strategy, letting Foreman wail away with punches which eventually tired Foreman. Ali took full advantage and eventually put Foreman down for the count. As a treat I decided to post Foreman – Ali for you guys to watch and enjoy, Ali Bombaye, Ali Bombaye!
