Interview With British Middleweight Prospect Linus Udofia

July 16, 2017

Earlier this afternoon I was asked by friend and fellow boxing geek Bo from Truth & Facts About Boxing to take part in a YouTube interview with UK Middleweight prospect Linus Udofia. This sit-down interview with Bo and Linus was fascinating, much more than I expected. We didn’t just simply talk to Linus about his career so far as a pro. Linus gave us some insight on the trails and tribulations of his career and life and how he’s used those setbacks as motivation to push him forward in his career. You don’t normally hear this kind of insight from a boxer. As a result you have to root for Linus as he goes along in boxing career. This is a must listen.

#WardKovalev2 Post-Fight Press Conference

By. BrotherJR

June 19, 2017

Just when you thought I was finished posting/sharing video of Ward – Kovalev II, wait… there’s more!!! For those who did not witness, here is the Ward – Kovalev II post-fight press conference in its entirety. Given the drama and what many feel controversy regarding the bout. Things got very heated as both Team Ward and Team Kovalev went at it and Kathy Duva… let’s just say she was not happy at all (admittedly the way she was treated was something I cannot condone). Suggestion… please take time to watch this in full! This video is courtesy of Dontae’s Boxing Nation.

Talking #WardKovalev2 w/Zaire

June 19, 2017

As all boxing fans know the showcase fight of the weekend was the rematch between Andre Ward and Sergey Kovalev. Their first fight last November in Las Vegas was controversial to many. While Ward won a razor-thin unanimous decision (by one point on all three judges scorecards) to capture the WBA, WBO, and IBF Lt. Heavyweight titles, many felt that Kovalev deserved the verdict. In the aftermath there were screams of robbery and a demand for a rematch of one of the best fights of 2016.

Ward and Kovalev fought their highly anticipated rematch Saturday night once again in Las Vegas with Ward winning once again, this time by 8th round stoppage to retain his Lt. Heavyweight titles. However the controversy many felt was part of the first fight extended to the rematch as in the aftermath with a lot of people feeling that this time Ward (32-0, 16 KO’s) got away with low blows on Kovalev (30-2-1, 26 KO’s) that aided him en route to his victory.

Given a fight of this significance of this bout I was a busy brotha this weekend participating in two post-fight discussion of this rematch. This video is first of my post-fight discussions of the Ward – Kovalev rematch with Zaire*. While Zaire usually talks about all thing’s gaming, he is also a big boxing enthusiast (a former amateur boxing). Zaire and yours truly broke down Ward’s stoppage over Kovalev, discussed whether the bout was really controversial, talked whether Kovalev exposed as well as talked the future for Ward, the fighter known as “SOG” (Son On God).

Kell Brook vs. Errol Spence Jr. Weigh-In

Earlier today in Sheffield, England the weigh-in took place for the Welterweight showdown between IBF Welterweight champion Kell Brook and Errol Spence which will take place tomorrow evening live on Showtime. One of the biggest questions going into this fight was whether the defending champion Brook (36-1, 25 KO’s) can once again get down to the welterweight limit of 147lbs, especially given that in his last fight he jumped up two weight divisions to challenge Middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin. As it turns out during today’s weigh-in Brook indeed made weight coming in at 146.7 lbs. For his part Spence (21-0, 18 KO’s), a big guy welterweight himself weighed in at 146.6 lbs. Both fighters look to be in supreme condition. If today’s weigh-in is any indication both Brook and Spence look ready to put on a heck of an effort tomorrow night. Boxing fans will be watching for sure.
