Pound 4 Pound Boxing Report Exclusive… An Interview w/Isaac Dogboe

By. BrotherJR

April 24, 2018

For those who are regular followers and listeners of the Pound 4 Pound Boxing Report we go by things in a certain order: recap fights, discuss boxing news, then preview fights for upcoming week/weekend. Well on this occasion, I was blessed with the opportunity to do something that I rarely do, a live interview. I not only did a do a live interview on my show, I did a live interview with a current world champion (first time for the P4P Boxing Report), yayer!!! Monday evening, I held an exclusive interview with current Interim WBO world Super Bantamweight Champion Isaac Dogboe. Dogboe (18-0, 12 KO’s) will fight Jessie Magdaleno this coming Saturday in Philadelphia for the  Magdaleno’s WBO World Super Bantamweight title. In the U.S. you can catch #MagdalenoDogboe on ESPN.

Isaac Jr. was joined by his father/trainer Paul and I have to say this was a entertaining, fun interview. Both fighter and trainer are fully confident they will come to the U.S. and leave with Magdaleno’s belt. During this interview we discussed Dogboe’s preparation. I also asked Isaac Sr. what makes his relationship with son different from other father/trainer boxing relationships which have not always turned out for the good as well as a discussion on the rich history of Ghanaian boxing.

Lastly, big shout-out to Bo from Truth & Facts About Boxing as well as 3KingsBoxing.com. He referred me to UK boxing publicist MeltPR.  Back an forth discussion with her led me to this interview with Dogboe. Thank you so much Bo and Mel.

Team Loma vs. Team Rigo Debate

December 9, 2017

With the highly anticipated Vasyl Lomachenko – Guillermo Rigondeaux showdown just hours away I decided share video of an event I took part in regarding that bout. This past Wednesday on BWTM Sports Channel yours truly as well as Gayle Falkenthal from Communities Digital News moderated a debate from a couple of members of the YTCB, Bo from Truth & Facts Boxing and Eugene discussing who will win the upcoming Lomachenko – Rigo bout. Bo represented Team Rigo stating the case why he feels Guillermo Rigondeaux will win and Eugene represented Team Lomachenko stating his case on why Vasyl Lomachenko will be victorious. I’ve never moderated a debate of any kind, so was nervous going in. However, I had fun and enjoyed the points made by both Bo and Eugene in what was an excellent debate. Big s/o to Ingram from BTWM Sports for inviting me to participate.

More #WardKovalev2 Talk w/Truth And Facts About Boxing

By. BrotherJR

June 19, 2017

I told y’all this past weekend was a busy one for me. During my previous blog post I shared a post-fight video I took part of with Zaire from Big Gamers Small Talk podcast breaking down Andre Ward’s 8th round stoppage over Sergey Kovalev this past Saturday in Las Vegas. Well in this video, I took part in another discussion of Ward – Kovalev II w/Bo* and the folks from Truth & Facts Boxing. Bo is pretty much a regular now on the Pound 4 Pound Boxing Report podcast and given that I had some time on my hands, I was more than glad to take part on his show and discuss Ward’s win over Kovalev in their rematch. My first discussion with Zaire was fun and this video right here… just as much fun. Bottom, we got down!!!

*Bo is former amateur boxer and the host of Truth & Facts Boxing podcast/YouTube show as well as a regular on Da Muvement Boxing Podcast.
