Dogboe Annihilates Otake in One To Retain his title

Dogboe - Otake

By. BrotherJR

August 25, 2018

Tonight at the Gila Arena in Glendale, Arizona WBO Jr. Featherweight champion Isaac Dogboe wanted to make a emphatic statement against challenger Hidenori Otake… and Dogboe did just that destroying Otake in the first round to retain his title for the first time.

Dogboe (20-0, 14 KO’s) who captured the title this past April against Jesse Magdaleno in Philadelphia (by way of 11th round TKO) opened the fight at a measured pace. However, as soon as the defending champ opened up, he dominated. At the 1:23 mark of opening round Dogboe put Otake (31-3-3, 14 KO’s) down with a hard left hook. Otake got up, but the defending champ cold smell blood. A follow-up assualt ending with a right hand put Otake down again with :70 to go in the opening session. From there the ferocious 23-year old Dogboe attacked with savage intent. Two more big hooks and a left hook to the body/right hand to the head combination hurt Otake again. Dogboe continued to swarm with punches until referee Chris Flores waved a halt to the bout at the 2:18 mark of the opening round.

After the bout Isaac Dogboe issued a challenge to all the other champions in the Jr. Featherweight divisions (most notably WBC Champion Rey Vargas and WBA Champion Daniel Roman). Dogboe came on the international scene with his title win over Magdaleno. Based on this destruction of Otake, Isaac Dogboe (nicknamed Brave-Son) looks like planning one being here for a while.

August 21, 2018

Pound 4 Pound Boxing Report has learned that current WBA Bantamweight champion and Japanese boxing superstar Naoya Inoue took part in a special three round exhibition against former world Featherweight title challenger Genesis Servania this past Sunday at the Sangyo Hall in Kanazawa Japan.

Both Inoue (16-0, 14 KO’s) and Servania (31-1, 14 KO’s) have sparred each other in the past and this particular sparring session was fast-paced and intense. Little was held back by either men as both fighters looked sharp. This was a treat for the Japanese fans as they witnessed Inoue, considered one of the best fighters in the world pound 4 pound take part in a public sparring session against a high quality fighter (Servania is ranked 10th by the WBC, and 3rd by the WBA and IBF at Featherweight) who gave current WBO Featherweight champion Oscar Valdez all he could handle during an unsuccessful title try in September of last year.

In an interview after the sparring session, Inoue revealed that his upcoming bout against Juan Carlos Payano (20-1, 9 KO’s) in the upcoming WBSS Bantamweight tournament would take place in October. While no specific date was announce, Inoue’s announcement gives validation to Leon Margules (president of Warriors Boxing) telling the TASS Russian News Agency that WBA Super Lightweight champion Kiryl Relikh’s (who Margules promotes) upcoming title defense against no. 1 contender Eduard Troyanovsky (Relikh – Troyanovsky is part of the WBSS Super Lightweight tournament) will take place on October 7 in Yokohama, Japan.

It is presumed that Relikh – Troyanovsky would on the undercard of the upcoming Inoue – Payano bout. We will keep you informed on further developments and the official date for Naoya Inoue’s upcoming bout against Juan Carlos Payano.
